Usemaps, an advanced tool for working with maps in an online environment, offers a wide range of features accessible through convenient keyboard shortcuts. Below is an overview of basic operations that can be performed using key combinations and mouse buttons:
Panning the Map Area
- Using the Left Mouse Button (LMB): By holding down the LMB, you can move the map area as needed.
- Keyboard Arrow Keys: To move the map, it must be active (focused). Use the arrow keys to pan the map in the selected direction.
Changing the Map Zoom
- Mouse Scroll Wheel: Zooming in and out of the map can be done by using the mouse scroll wheel.
- + / – Keys: Alternatively, you can use the + and – keys on the keyboard to adjust the zoom level.
- Double-click LMB: Double-clicking the left mouse button will zoom the map in by one level.
- Zoom to Area: By holding the SHIFT key, you can select an area on the map using the LMB to zoom into it.
Rotating the Map
- Rotate with LMB: By holding SHIFT + ALT and using the LMB, the user can rotate the map as needed. Note that rotations made with this key combination are not saved in the project.
Selecting Multiple Objects
- Selecting with CTRL: By holding the CTRL key, the user can select multiple objects on the map at the same time, provided that the object selection interaction is active.
Editing Geometry
- Deleting Vertices: While editing geometry, you can delete vertices by clicking the LMB while holding ALT.
- “Freehand” Geometry Drawing: To draw object geometry freehand, hold down the LMB and SHIFT. The drawing function must be active.
- Restart Object Drawing: You can start drawing an object from scratch by single-clicking the LMB while holding SHIFT.
