A data type defines the kind of value that can be stored in a specific Attribute.

Unlike spreadsheets, where you can enter anything in any cell, in a GIS it is necessary to enter data of a specific type for each field.

Data types used in the System include:

1. Time
2. Date
3. Date and Time
4. Hyperlink
5. Integer
6. Decimal Number
7. Real Number
8. Boolean (True/False)
9. Text
