Snapping (alignment) is a tool that supports the editing of spatial data by automatically snapping to selected elements.

It is visible as a characteristic “jump” of the editing cursor and its “attachment” to an object from the same or another layer. It helps prevent Topological Errors.

Make sure that the Snap to Objects function is enabled.
