How does it work?

How to get started?

  1. Download the Usemaps Lite plugin from the QGIS plugin repository (Usemaps Lite is also available as a GIS Support Plugin tool).
  2. Register by providing your email, organization name, and setting a password.
    1. An account for your organization will be created, and you will become the first collaborator.
  3. After registration, you can log in and upload data to the Usemaps Lite server.
  4. Next, you can invite your collaborators, who will join the organization after accepting the invitation.

Why it matter

Collaborative Data Editing

  1. Load a layer into Usemaps Lite
  2. All collaborators in your organization will gain access to it and will be able to load it into QGIS and edit it.
  3. Every edit will update the layer for all collaborators.

Migration to the full Usemaps environment

At any time, you can migrate your organization to the full version of the Usemaps platform. We encourage you to get in touch to schedule a demonstration of its capabilities.

Is it possible to add an attribute to a layer in Usemaps Lite?

No. To edit the attribute structure, save the layer, for example, as a GeoPackage, modify the attribute structure, and reload it into Usemaps Lite. Changing the attribute structure is possible in the full version of Usemaps.

No. Everyone has the same permissions (editing data, uploading layers, inviting and removing collaborators). Full access control is available in the full version of Usemaps.

The data is stored on the Usemaps Lite server, which is managed by GIS Support Ltd.
