SVG – Scalable Vector Graphics. A graphic data format (see full definition on Wikipedia).

It is a data format in which the System stores graphics used as symbols for point features. These are configured in the Symbolization Manager

In other words, if we want an icon or graphic to be displayed as a point, we need to obtain that graphic in SVG format.
