How does it work?
How to get started?
- Download the Usemaps Lite plugin from the QGIS plugin repository (Usemaps Lite is also available as a GIS Support Plugin tool).
- Register by providing your email, organization name, and setting a password.
- An account for your organization will be created, and you will become the first collaborator.
- After registration, you can log in and upload data to the Usemaps Lite server.
- Next, you can invite your collaborators, who will join the organization after accepting the invitation.
Why it matter
- Usemaps Lite is completely free.
- You can get started in 5 minutes.
- This is the easiest way to collaborate in QGIS.
Collaborative Data Editing
- Load a layer into Usemaps Lite
- All collaborators in your organization will gain access to it and will be able to load it into QGIS and edit it.
- Every edit will update the layer for all collaborators.
Technical Details:
- Each save will automatically refresh the layer for collaborators.
- Each save will be recorded in the notifications.
- You can send a message to your collaborators.

Usemaps Lite – Frequently Asked Questions:
Is it possible to add an attribute to a layer in Usemaps Lite?
No. To edit the attribute structure, save the layer, for example, as a GeoPackage, modify the attribute structure, and reload it into Usemaps Lite. Changing the attribute structure is possible in the full version of Usemaps.
Can I restrict editing permissions for my collaborators?
No. Everyone has the same permissions (editing data, uploading layers, inviting and removing collaborators). Full access control is available in the full version of Usemaps.
Where is the data stored?
The data is stored on the Usemaps Lite server, which is managed by GIS Support Ltd.
