15 January 2026We did it! We have a new edition of Usemaps!
And it contains some interesting new features:
AAutomatic vectorization of classification contours has been “linked” to a kilometer grid. This makes it possible to vectorize large, continuous areas. We have also improved the quality of vectorization (on average, 98% of recognitions are correct). - The ‘Download vector data’ tool is still in beta, but it already works perfectly. Downloading (for now) buildings, wooded areas and water bodies from BDOT10k for a selected area takes only a few seconds.
- And finally, my favourite – a tool that is not spectacular, but useful: attribute statistics. These allow you to quickly familiarise yourself with basic information about a data set.
- … plus, as usual, dozens of bug fixes and improvements.
Usemaps
has already exceeded critical mass. We no longer control its development, but merely supervise the creation of functionalities requested by users.
Especially in the #RES sector, Usemaps is no longer just a tool that makes work easier — it is a tool that provides a competitive advantage.
