Each one is suitable for a specific application: <\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Some are less accurate but cover the entire Earth,<\/li>\n<li>Others are very accurate, but only within a specific area.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For many years, there was a problem with the naming of coordinate systems, until the European Petroleum Survey Group introduced a classification and assigned a unique code to each system.
