{"id":7119,"date":"2022-10-24T13:01:59","date_gmt":"2022-10-24T11:01:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usemaps.com\/kb\/uncategorized\/attribute-painter-tool\/"},"modified":"2022-10-24T13:01:59","modified_gmt":"2022-10-24T11:01:59","slug":"attribute-painter-tool","status":"publish","type":"knowledgebase","link":"https:\/\/usemaps.com\/en\/usemaps-documentation\/definitions\/attribute-painter-tool\/","title":{"rendered":"Attribute Painter Tool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Attribute Painter tool allows you to copy filled attributes from a specified source object to selected target objects.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4733\" src=\"https:\/\/usemaps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/malarz_atrybutow.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"684\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>How It Works:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select the objects (they should be highlighted in yellow) that will receive the filled attributes<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Attribute Painter<\/strong> tool from the Attribute Table Toolbar<\/li>\n<li>The cursor will change to a selector \u2192 point to the source object from which you want to copy attributes.<br \/>\nIf there are multiple objects under the cursor, a list of objects will appear in the info panel for selection<\/li>\n<li>After selecting a single source object, a configuration panel appears in the info panel \u2013 a list of attributes available for copying.<br \/>\nSelect all attributes to copy or only the selected ones<\/li>\n<li>Enter the buffer value in meters or select the attribute where you store the buffer values you want to generate.<\/li>\n<li>Click Copy &gt; the attributes will be saved in the target object\/objects<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Assumptions:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe copied attributes overwrite existing values in the selected target object\/objects.<\/p>\n<p>Use case:<br \/>\nThe user has drawn 10 new sewer connections and would like to copy attributes from an existing object that was added earlier and has all attributes fully completed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you do not use the Attribute Painter to copy attributes, you can copy individual attribute values using the browser.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Attribute Painter tool allows you to copy filled attributes from a specified source object to selected target objects.
