It is simply text on the map, for example, the name of a town next to its outline or the name of a river along its course. <\/p>\n<p>Labels are widely used for quick visual identification of objects and also provide informational value on printed maps.<\/p>\n<p>Labels are configured in the Symbolization Manager, in the right-hand section.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5015\" src=\"https:\/\/usemaps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/etykiety.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1278\" height=\"682\"><\/p>\n<h3>Labeling Settings<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Value \u2013 we can select one or more attributes that will make up the label.<\/li>\n<li>Font size \u2013 this is the size of the font in points.<\/li>\n<li>Font color \u2013 any color from the RGB palette.<\/li>\n<li>Font weight \u2013 normal or bold.<\/li>\n<li>Visibility scale \u2013 the scale value above which the font will be visible. For example, selecting 17 means the font will be visible at scales from 17 to 22. <\/li>\n<li>X Offset \u2013 the label\u2019s horizontal displacement along the X-axis (to the right&lt;&gt;left). The displacement is measured from the centroid of a point or area. Adjusting the X offset does not apply to lines.<br \/>\n<em>A line label is always displayed at the center of the line feature.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Y Offset \u2013 the label\u2019s vertical displacement along the Y-axis (up&lt;&gt;down). This allows you to position the label above, below, or centered on the object. <\/li>\n<li>Outline, also called halo. It is recommended to add a light outline, as it makes the text more visible on a dark background.\n<ol>\n<li>Outline color \u2013 the halo color<\/li>\n<li>Outline size \u2013 the halo size<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Labels are text displayed next to an object on the map, and labeling is the process of configuring these labels.
