Managing the symbology of a vector layer, or simply put \u2013 changing the style\/appearance of the data \u2013 is one of the basic tasks in GIS. This is done through the Symbology Manager. <\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Default Style and User Style<\/h4>\n

In the System, each Layer has its own:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Default Style (assigned by the Administrator) and<\/li>\n
  2. User Style (the style set by the User in a specific Map Composition), which is visible only to that User.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Administrator has the ability to set the Default Style, which will be the primary style for the Layer for all Users. The Administrator can do this: <\/p>\n

      \n
    1. by changing the style in the Administrative Panel<\/li>\n
    2. by changing the style in the Map Panel and saving it as the Default Style (Ellipsis > Save as Default Style)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Symbology Manager Description<\/h3>\n

      1. Style Tab\n
          \n
        1. Left section \u2013 here we select the symbology type and set its parameters<\/li>\n
        2. Right section \u2013 here we set the basic settings depending on the geometry type (point, line, or polygon)\n
            \n
          1. Labeling<\/a> Management<\/li>\n
          2. Additionally, we can export<\/a> and import styles<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
          3. Symbols Tab \u2013 this contains a library of SVG or PNG symbols that can be used for point symbology. Tools:\n

            1. Import Icon \u2013 this tool allows importing an icon in SVG or PNG format (size 64x64px)<\/li>\n
            2. Delete Icon from the library (hovering over the icon in the top right corner will show a cross allowing you to remove the icon.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
            3. QGIS Style Tab \u2013 available only when the QGIS Plugin module is active.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              The Symbology Manager is accessible from several locations within the System.<\/p>\n
